Here's how to start.....
Take a few minutes to look at the chart below. If you
were to put a score against each of the categories of your
life, how would they rate? Scoring an area zero would show
you that there was nothing right about it at all and a 10
would suggest very strongly that you are more than happy
with that area, it's perfect! When you are deciding your
score, think about the following:
- The amount of time you would like to spend on each,
compared with how much time you actually do spend
- How effective you think you are, compared with how
effective other people think you are in each category
- How rewarding and enjoyable each category is for you
|
Category |
Score |
| Health - this could include weight, general
fitness, smoking, alcohol, diet etc |
|
| Work - this could be your job, career or
business |
|
| Family - partners, spouses, children or
family |
|
| Leisure - hobbies, pastimes |
|
| Money - income, outgoings, debts, prospects |
|
| Confidence - self-esteem, assertiveness,
abilities, attitudes |
|
| Relationships at work - boss, colleagues,
clients etc |
|
| Relationships at home - whoever you live
with |
|
How did it go? To be living a healthily balanced
lifestyle, you are looking for scores of 7 or more in each
category. The chances are (if you're being honest - and
remember, this is your test so nobody other than you should
be looking at your scores!) you will have at least one or
two categories that will currently be scoring considerably
less than 7.
The good news is that you've just identified the areas
that you can start to improve with purpose. Armed with this
insight you can start to make a real difference to the way
your life is feeling for you right now and start moving
towards the life you want to be living in the future.
